Pikes Peak German Shepherd Dog Club

To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred German Shepherd Dogs and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

The Pikes Peak German Shepherd Dog Club is a specialty breed club, which is also a member club of the American Kennel Club (AKC) and a regional club of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America (GSDCA).  We hold three to four specialty shows per year in the metro Denver area or Colorado Springs area.   These shows include Junior Showmanship and Beginner Puppy shows (4-6 months), intended for young puppies and the non-professional handler.

We support two days of obedience and rally trials as well.

Our meeting place varies according to the season.  In the spring and summer and early fall, we try to meet outdoors with dogs to support different activities–conformation training, juniors showing their dogs, obedience and rally training and run-throughs. This is also a good place for puppy socialization.

Our members are dedicated to the German Shepherd dog and we as a club try to nourish our member’s interest. The Colorado clubs have hosted the GSDCA’s National Specialty shows in the past two decades. Most members have many years in the breed with a great deal of accumulated knowledge.  Watch for future updates for meetings, events and further information about our club.

If you have an interest in many areas of dog sports, we can help you find your way to successful training. If you want further info please contact the Pikes Peak German Shepherd Dog Club (PPGSDC) Membership Chairperson, Diane Mehra, at dmehra@aol.com.
